Iron oxide (Fe2O3) is a chemical compound composed of iron and oxygen. It is a component found in different rocks and minerals including limestone.
It is considered as an impurity which causes limestone to exhibit different colours. The chemical compound is commonly available in earthy end of colours like yellow, orange, red, brown or black range.
Reduction in its quantity from lime is necessary in order to increase the product’s sustainability. For this purpose good fluxing limestone should be lower than 0.50% in Iron oxide content, which remains at its maximum of 0.20% in our product.
